Gate
valves are normally used for on-off service. They are
not recommended for throttling service. Pressure seal
gate valves are used for high pressure high temperature
applications where body / bonnet flanges are eliminated
by the reliable pressure seal.
The internal pressure applied to the pressure seal valve
forces the sealing element in the tighter contact and
results in pressure assisting sealing. The higher the
internal pressure, tighter the seal. The efficient sealing
feature provides significant weight savings, ease of installation
and maintenance.
